All the Indian people stay at home on Sunday, March 22, 2020, after Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced for an unusual Janta Curfew (peoples’ curfew) from 7 am to 9 pm to reduce the risk of spreading the potentially fatal COVID-19, the disease caused by the coronavirus.

All the public transports and all shops and services were closed during the curfew, with the exception of essential and emergency services. The prime minister requested that people stay indoors and not leave out of the house except in the case of an emergency. But netizens are wondering whether this measure is sufficient to stop the spread of this disease in this crowded country. In the state of Maharashtra, of which Mumbai is the capital, the curfew has been extended till Monday morning.
